About the Book
This first book in the series is a collaboration of different stories from drug abuse to eating disorders. The writers' feedback was positive stating it was a great experience, painful at times, but it helped either heighten or begin their own healing process. The book opens with my own story talking about some of the latest experiences my family encountered with my oldest daughter. My youngest daughter also wrote a story about some struggles in her life to include how her older sister's decisions made an impact on her life. Bottom line, all of us hope that in the end, others out there will be able to relate to one or more of our stories and help them feel less alone and more confident to reach out to others for comfort, advise and help.
Part I - A Family Experience (Author's story) This section contains my story & my youngest daughter's story
Part II - Parent Stories A collection of parent short stories about raising their teens through troublesome times.
Part III - Teen Stories A collection of teen stories about going through troublesome times
Part IV - Memories of Troublesome Times A collection of stories from adults that had experienced troublesome teen years
| Messages from the Writers (all stories are in Parent/Teen Stories: Without Judgment)
"Without sounding like a cliche, it is my hope that if one child reads my teen story and sees themselves in any aspect, they will know that they are not alone. There is help. You are not at fault. By picking up this book you have made a giant leap in helping yourself." Danielle Christopher, author of Not Daddy's Little Girl.
"Some are blessed, some are not so blessed. Hence, accept life as it comes and learn the art of patience. Have confidence in yourself and it will help solve your problems." Shivendra Kapoor, author of The Undergarment Child.
"I believe that love cannot be taken away and there is good in each and everyone of us. The love is there, it's just mixed up in a lot of confusion with your son or daughter. It's only a tunnel and there is light at the end of it." Harriette J. Schwartz, author of Death Notes.
"Through my past experiences I have learned to never be afraid to ask for help. Although this sounds cliche, I feel that many teenagers do not seek the help that they need due to fear of the consequences. The longer that one suffers alone, the harder it becomes to heal the damages..." E. Jayne Forish, author of Overdose.
"Through the experience with my sister, I have seesawed from anger to worry and frustration to sorrow. There is a bible verse that sustains me in rough times and inspires me in the good. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.." (Romans 8;28) Because he forgave me, I can forgive her." Heather Landon, author of Sisters Estranged.
